Sewer Inspections Can Make Sure Everything in the Home is Functioning Properly

Posted on: June 1, 2017

Wastewater running out of the home is critical to modern living and our sewer inspections can ensure that water is flowing correctly. A sewer backup or a broken sewer line can create a serious mess in the home. If one does not properly attend to the problem in the sewer line, then there is a much higher probability that a stinky, smelly and disastrous mess is on the horizon.

This makes it important to schedule a service call right away if any of the signs indicate that there is an issue. Even a severe backup or a clog can cause problems, so do not delay in making that phone call.

Signs that sewer inspections are necessary

There are numerous indications of a problem with the sewer lines coming in or out of the home, these include:

#1. Increased water bill

Typically, homeowners will have consistent water bills. While they may fluctuate by twenty dollars, there will not be any serious spikes in the bill. If there is a sudden spike in the water bill, and for no apparent reason, it means that there is probably a water leak that is increasing the amount of water a home uses.

#2. The lawn is soft or flooding

Changes in how the lawn feels or obvious signs of flooding can be an indication of a broken or leaking pipe. If water is flowing out of the pipe and into the lawn, there is likely to be a large mess. Use this as a sign to schedule an inspection.

#3. Water flowing

If water is obviously flowing out of a pipe and visible at a glance, it is time to schedule an inspection and repair. Broken pipes can create a lot of damage so it is crucial to call immediately.

#4. Constant backups

If the sink, toilet and shower are constantly backing up, it can be a sign that there is a backup or serious clog in one of the pipes leading to the sewer. In this case, schedule an inspection so that it is possible to determine if there is indeed a clog. We can come in and remove the clog to prevent future backups.

#5. Water leak in the home

Water leaking inside the house can manifest as a major flood or a slow trickle. With a trickle, water stains may appear on the wall or a line of water may show up leading from the ceiling. This is a sign that an emergency repair is necessary. Otherwise, there is a risk that water will continue to leak, causing serious and costly damage inside the home.
